Tradeshows are a unique three-dimensional environment, combining elements of marketing, advertising and sales they bring targeted buyers and sellers together in one place and at one time.
Most exhibitors participate for branding and name recognition, to see and be seen, to view marketplace and evaluate the competition. But, ultimately, the goal is to gather leads, inform interested travelers about their destination and book trips.
The average Travel & Adventure Show has over 120 exhibitors, where the average attendee will visit about 21 exhibits, and that average attendee walks into the show with a list of 75% of the exhibits he/she wants to see. That means you have to get on their “to see list” before the show.
You may want to consider bringing promotional items, such as pens and refrigerator magnets; they are a great way to keep your brand in your customer’s minds long after the show ends. Promoting a giveaway, whether a vacation, excursion, branded merchandise or a one of a kind attraction is one of the best ways to gain volume at your booth!
As we get closer and closer to the 2014 Show season, we wanted to take a minute and introduce you to our team. In this month’s edition of Get to Know Us, we’re talking with Travel & Adventure Show Director of Sales, John Spooner.
1. What is your favorite part about traveling for vacation?
My favorite part about traveling is the memories that we create with my family that will last a lifetime. Just the other day my daughter and I were driving home and we were talking and laughing about some of the trips we had taken over the past years. It truly amazes me how much she remembers from each trip, including trips when she was only 5 and 6 years old! It really is wonderful to establish a tradition of vacationing together that one day will carry over to my kids when they start vacation with their own children.
